SUNOL, Calif. -- Community members in the unincorporated town of Sunol between Fremont and Pleasanton in Alameda County gathered Sunday evening to hold a candlelight vigil for a 47-year-old man who has been missing since November. Stephan Doyle never returned home from his job in Hayward on Nov. 29, Sunol resident and organizer Virginia McCullough said Saturday. When workers arrived at the business the door was open, Doyle's dogs were inside and his car was in the parking lot, but he was nowhere to be found, she said. "He is just very beloved and we are all upset," she said. The vigil was scheduled to be held at a park near the intersection of Kilkare Road and Main Street at 6 p.m., McCullough said.
